So

It turns out
I want you,
after all
the fannying about.

Returning,
I peel off my suede boots,
drop the keys on the floor with a clang....


Maria Louise Apichella was shortlisted for the 2012 Bridport Prize and both Cinnamon Press Short Poetry Collection Awards in 2012. Her work has appeared in journals and anthologies including Envoi, Magama 54, Cadaverine, Sentinel, The Book of Euclid and Reaching Out. Maria Apichella is in the middle of her PhD in English and Creative Writing at Aberystwyth University and teaches online with the University of Maryland, Europe.
