From ‘Myth’, Bruce Bond, NWR 100:

As a boy I bought a poster of Hitler,
not because I liked him. I don’t know.
Fact is, I’m not sure why I bought it,
save the storm and stress of his brow,
the cold eye that nearly killed my father.

Bruce Bond is the author of eight published books of poetry, most recently The Visible (LSU, 2012). He is currently a Regents Professor of English at the University of North Texas and Poetry Editor for American Literary Review.
