NWR Issue 99NWR's Alternative Wales Book of the Year Shortlist
Monday's announcement online at 2pm by Literature Wales of their judges' shortlist is for 9 books in two languages across 3 categories. Unfortunately I'm not up to speed this year with Welsh-language poetry or nonfiction but I've made a stab at the other categories. They are not necessarily my favourite books but are ones I think the judges (Jasper Fforde; Ffion Hague; Richard Marggraf Turley; Alun Gibbard; Bethan Elfyn; Elin ap Hywel) may go for. Only took ten minutes: perhaps some money could be saved next year by consulting back issues of New Welsh Review and ditch the judges altogether? Maybe not. Here we go in any case:
