Ruckus in Welsh Subsidised Publishing

In this Sunday's Politics Show (2 December, 11-12.15am) there will be in their Wales segment an item on the Library of Wales and also public funding of the arts in Wales. It will include Jon Gower making the case in favour, as well as Julian Ruck, against, and some coverage of Mr Ruck's event in Chapter, Cardiff on Wednesday (28 November), 'Welsh Publishing and the Tax Payer', at which, according to his blog, tempers flared, unsurprisingly.

We can all carry on making our arguments in favour of subsidy. We can continue to struggle, within our very modest means, to reach a market that sometimes seems to have its mind elsewhere. Or we can vote with our feet, supporting our writers and publishing industry by buying at least one literary magazine and one book produced in Wales this Christmas.
