I strode into an early world stalked by a giant
and witnessed a man dreep down a drainpipe,
pub doors opening to knocks like the Morse code
and a queue already formed outside the pawn shop...

Owen Gallagher is from Gorbals, Glasgow. His most recent poetry collection was A Good Enough Love, Salmon Poetry (Ireland, 2015), which was nominated for the TS Eliot award.
