POEM Kate Bingham

NWR Issue 108

No Handkerchief

not even a proper tissue
just a wadge of emergency bog-paper
I must have pocketed in someone’s bathroom
when the children were young do you remember
this was the only jacket I would wear
the little hole my change kept falling through...

This poem will appear in Infragreen, Kate Bingham’s third collection, published by Seren in June. Her second collection, Quicksand Beach, was shortlisted for the Forward Prize in 2006. katebingham.com
