Two vacancies for multimedia placements working for NWR at Aberystwyth University (10-03-2015)
Recruitment is open for two multimedia placements working in tandem this summer, producing audio and video features, reviews and creative pieces, application deadline midnight 7 April, start 9 June.
The magazine's successful formula of coupling one student associated with Aberystwyth University's department of English and Creative Writing with another from the department of Theatre, Film & TV Studies, to work on producing book-related video and audio pieces, continues as recruitment opens for our latest, paid summer placement.
These next placements are for one month only, from 9 June until 7 July, and will produce audio and video features including creative videos based on contemporary poetry, a single audio review with readings and an author interview video. The two videos produced by the last placees, Sam Christie and Oliver Bevington, were presented at the New Welsh Writing Awards
ceremony late last month to a packed audience at the Old College, Aberystwyth. These comprised, firstly, of a video showcase
of interviews with shortlisted authors plus their readings and an animation of maps associated with the shortlisted entry settings, and secondly, a filmic 2-minute video
interpretation, with performed reading, of the winning entry, Eluned Gramich's 'Scenes from a Hokkaidan Life'. Plenty to live up to for ambitious current graduates and post-graduates of these Aberystwyth University departments wishing to join New Welsh Review
staff this summer. Application deadline: midnight 7 April 2015, Multimedia_Assistant_job_spec
