WWF Cymru prize for writing on the environment announced as part of the New Welsh Writing Awards
New Welsh Review editor Gwen Davies today announces the WWF Cymru Prize for Writing on Nature and the Environment, the first category in the magazine's newly minted New Welsh Writing Awards, with first prize as £1000, epublishing deal and weekend at Gladstone's Library, Flintshire, and second prize, week-long course and accommodation at Ty Newydd Writer's Centre, Gwynedd. Entries open today, 25 July, and close on 1 November; the longlist will be announced on 1 December, the shortlist on 6 February, with the ceremony to take place in Aberystwyth in late February 2015. Entries must be between 8,000 and 30,000 words unpublished nonfiction, and may be submitted by UK or Irish residents, plus writers from around the world who can prove they have been at least partly educated in Wales.
