NWR Issue 98

Second Annual Flash Fiction Day, Swansea

Mary Jane by Paul Edwards, with kind permission

Tomorrow! Second annual flash fiction event, Imagistic, is in Swansea this Thursday, with the writers Philip Gross, Rhian Edwards, Judith Heneghan and Carole Burns reading new work based on images. It's at Tapestri, 37 Orchard Street, Swansea at 7.30 Thursday 24 January. NWR is publishing in our summer edition (100) a story from last year's Imagistic project, 'My Mary Jane' by the amazing Rhian Edwards, accompanied by Paul Edwards' (no relation) beautiful painting of that evocative childhood shoe, 'Mary Jane'. This will be a good evening for snooping on new talent.

Unconnected to the painting-flash story event in Swansea tomorrow, our hundredth issue will also be lengthening the shelf-life of shortie short fiction with Lloyd Robson's flash story, 'The Tapas Machine'.
