Rainer Maria Rilke, from Sonnets to Orpheus

Martyn Crucefix has won numerous prizes, including a major Eric Gregory award and a Hawthornden Fellowship. He has published five collections of poetry; the latest, Hurt, was published by Enitharmon in 2010. His translation of Rilke’s Duino Elegies, published by Enitharmon in 2006, was shortlisted for the Popescu Prize for European Poetry Translation. His new translation of Rilke’s Sonnets to Orpheus will appear in autumn 2012. Published by Enitharmon, the translation is the culmination of fifteen years work on Rilke.
